Limassol-based Mercuryo among Europe’s Fastest-Growing Startups according to Sifted

With offices in Limassol and employees in over 30 countries, Mercuryo has been recognised by Sifted as being among the fastest-growing startups across Europe.

Sifted, a media brand for Europe’s startup community and backed by the Financial Times, highlights tech startups that have demonstrated the strongest revenue growth over the last three financial years.

In a recent announcement acknowledging the placing, Mercuryo said, “Despite the economic downturn in 2023 and ongoing challenges since the pandemic, these businesses have thrived by focusing on what truly matters—solving everyday problems.”

“Mercuryo stands out as the only high-growth startup from the cryptocurrency and decentralised finance (DeFi) space. We are proud to take our place among innovative startups in fields as diverse as pet insurance and hair loss. This recognition underscores our dedication to expanding payment use cases and bridging the gap between traditional finance and DeFi. Our focus on safety and a seamless user experience has been key to driving this growth,” the company continued.

“Mercuryo’s inclusion in the Sifted 50 Southern Europe Leaderboard report is a significant achievement that demonstrates our underlying strength in a blockchain and crypto sector that the report singles out for being laden with ‘tenuous tech propositions’ that only thrived ‘when money was free’. Mercuryo’s accession to the list is a stand-out achievement that validates our business model and success in delivering safe payments with a high-level user experience (UX),” the company continued.
