Cyfield to install air conditioning at five Nicosia schools

Cyfield has undertaken the installation and expense for air conditioners to be set up at three primary schools and two kindergartens in Nicosia.

Cyfield Group Director George Chrysochos recently met with Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Dr. Athena Michaelidou to discuss the issue.

As noted in an announcement by Cyfield, the meeting was held at the Minister's office in the presence of the Education Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Dr. Marina Ioannou Hasapi.

Chrysochos informed the Minister about the actions taken to date, including that written acceptance of the donation has already been secured from the relevant School Boards for the Primary School of Agioi Omologites in Nicosia and the Primary Schools and Kindergartens of Chryseleousa and Ayia Marina in Strovolos.

The installation of the air conditioners in all the classrooms of the above schools will take place during the summer holidays, so that they will be fully operational in September, always in consultation with the Technical Services of the Ministry of Education, Cyfield's announcement noted.

In his statements, Chrysochos referred to the major issue of a lack of air conditioning that concerns society and especially pupils and teachers, stating that Cyfield’s intention, in addition to installing air conditioners in the five schools in question, was to encourage other companies to also undertake similar actions, towards getting air conditioning installed as soon as possible.

On her part, the Minister thanked Chrysochos and Cyfield for their initiative to install air conditioners in these three primary schools and two kindergartens and expressed her certainty that with everyone's help, the government's goal of installing air conditioning in all public schools within three years could be achieved.
