Interior Ministry: Building permit applications online from 1 July

The Minister of the Interior issued a Decree for the electronic submission and examination of applications for the issuance of building permits from Monday, 1 July, 2024, based on the Roads and Buildings Regulation Law.

According to an announcement by the Ministry of the Interior, in view of the implementation of the Local Government reform and the actions taken with the aim of simplifying and speeding up the development licensing process, the Decree provides for the electronic submission and examination of applications for building permits, for all types of development, through the "IPPODAMOS" System, with simultaneous electronic payment of the corresponding fees.

"In conjunction with the transfer of development licensing authority from the existing Authorities to the five newly established Provincial Development Organisations, 1 July, 2024 is considered by the Ministry of the Interior as a milestone in development licensing, as well as the digital transition of its services," it added. As mentioned, the main objectives are to improve the service of construction sector professionals and investors, but mainly of citizens, to reduce bureaucracy and to reduce delays in issuing permits.

In addition to the applications for the issuance of building permits, it is should be recalled that from Monday, 1 July, 2024, applications for urban planning permits will also be submitted and examined exclusively through the "IPPODAMOS" System.
