Improving citizens' daily life is at the focus of our policies, Interior Minister Ioannou says

The improvement of the citizens' daily lives is at the focus of our policies, Minister of the Interior, Constantinos Ioannou has said.

He was addressing a ceremony for the 27 May inauguration of a park in Agia Varvara community in Nicosia district

"We have the huge task of reforming the Local Government before us. In about a month, local communities will enter a new era, with prospects for their upgrading and modernization", Ioannou said, inter alia, noting that "the flexibility given to Local Authorities by the new framework contributes to the promotion and implementation of projects that highlight the special character of local communities and contribute to the improvement of the quality of services provided to citizens".

In addition, the Minister assured that the Government in general and the services of the Ministry of Interior in particular, will constantly remain at the side of the communities and will work to facilitate the implementation of their goals and vision.  He stressed that "the success of your initiatives is our common goal, since this means the improvement of the daily lives of citizens, who are at the focus of our policies."
