RIF sponsors initiative to advance transparency and efficiency in emissions

The Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has funded a new project led by the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) entitled ‘The Decarbonisation Transparency Platform – DECAtrust’.

The project falls under Pillar I, 'Smart Growth' of the 'CO-DEVELOP' Programme, with a €600,000 budget.

This initiative aims to advance transparency and efficiency in emissions, and certification management through thorough digitalisation within the shipping industry. By developing a scalable digital platform, we will enhance access to accurate and transparent information.

“Our partners, Columbia Shipmanagement and Blue Dynamics Ltd, are an integral part of this endeavour which will significantly influence decarbonisation strategies across the sector,” CMMI explained announcing the news.

The Project Coordinator is CMMI’s Assistant Scientist Marina Loizidou of the Maritime Digitalisation Centre. The Grant Agreement was signed by CMMI’s CEO Zacharias Siokouros.
