RIF: New funding programme for joint R&I projects between Cyprus, Japan and European countries

The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has announced the "EIG CONCERT-Japan" call with a budget of €400,000 to develop scientific cooperation between Japan and Cyprus with the aim to further strengthen the extroversion of the ecosystem.

The call is for collaborative R&D projects between Japanese and European organisations and falls under the 'European Initiatives – National Development' programme, in which Cyprus participates through the RIF.

Under the new call, proposals can be submitted for projects involving basic and industrial research as well as experimental development activities in the thematic area of digital transformation and robotics in sustainable agriculture.

The maximum funding per project for the Cyprus consortium is €100,000. Research organisations, businesses and other entities are eligible to participate.

Proposals for Cyprus can be submitted via the IRIS portal of the Foundation, with a deadline of 29 July 2024 at 13:00, while for the International Proposal, the deadline is 23 July at 10:00 (CEST).
