ACM Christofides Ltd. CEO Marios Christofides named Master of the Keepers of the Quaich

ACM Christofides Ltd. has announced that Marios Christofides, CEO of the company, has been honoured with the esteemed title of Master of the Keepers of the Quaich.

As noted in the company's announcement, this prestigious accolade recognises Christofides's contributions to the whisky industry and his instrumental role in establishing The Famous Grouse as a leading Scotch whisky brand in Cyprus.

"Keepers of the Quaich are dedicated people who work, write, or evangelise about the Scotch Whisky Industry. The award ceremony took place on Monday, 25 of March 2024, at Blair Castle in Scotland. As of today, there are only just over 260 Masters in the World, and Mr. Christofides is the only one in Cyprus," the announcement noted.

Christofides's journey in the whisky industry began in 1971 when he joined his father Andreas's business, which was founded in the 1930s. Under his leadership, ACM Christofides Ltd. initiated the importation of The Famous Grouse into Cyprus in 1977 with a modest order of 30 cases.

"The overwhelming enthusiasm from consumers and friends prompted further investment in the brand, leading to its exponential growth and eventual dominance in the Cypriot market. ACM Christofides Ltd. proudly holds the distinction of being the longest-standing distributor of The Famous Grouse outside the UK," the company's announcement concluded, describing this as "a testament to Christofides’s unwavering commitment to excellence."
