Industrial output marks new annual gains in February

Industrial production in Cyprus exhibited an annual rise for a second consecutive month in February, according to data released by CySTAT.

The Industrial Production Index in February reached 103.4 units (base 2021=100), recording an increase of 6.7% compared to February 2023. In January the index recorded annual gains of 4.2%.

For the period January – February 2024, the index recorded an increase of 5.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The manufacturing sector registered an increase of 6.9% compared to February 2023.

Gains were observed in the sectors of water supply and materials recovery with 33,8%, whereas mining and quarrying rose by 29.3%.

A negative change was observed in the electricity supply sector 5.2%, CySTAT added.
