Natasa Iacovides: “An organisation is only as strong as its employees” (video)

The Director of Human Resources & Executive Coach, Hermes Airports, Natasa Iacovides, recently shared the company’s approach to its employees, emphasing the airport manager’s belief that organisations are only as strong as their staff.

Speaking, in Greek, for a video included in Hermes Airport’s recent Flight Mode Newsletter, Iacovides outlined some of the company’s innovative practices including the Evexia Being Well programme and availability of a hybrid working model.

A translated transcript of the video can be read below:

“Airports are a large community of people who, every day, actively contribute to their smooth and safe operation and to the creation of an unforgettable experience for travellers during their passage through them.

As Hermes Airports, it is our belief that every organisation is only as strong as its employees. With this principle in mind, in 2013 we set the human factor as one of the company's six strategic priorities, aiming to create a healthy organisation with high levels of corporate culture.

In the years that followed, we introduced and implemented a variety of innovative actions and recognised practices in all areas related to human resources, such as for example, leadership, talent management, recognition and rewards.

Since 2017, we have created the Evexia Being Well programme that supports our employees by helping them maintain a happy, healthy and productive life.

At the same time, we adopted the hybrid work model where each employee can work from home up to twice a week, we offer a support service in collaboration with a psychoanalyst – where any colleague can go and talks anonymously about whatever concerns them while the company covers the costs of the sessions. Also, every week we provide fresh fruit for everyone, annual blood tests are carried out at our offices, and we organise hikes all over Cyprus, etc.

Ten years later, Hermes Airports has evolved into one of the most significant employers of preference and choice and, attracting outstanding professionals to our team.

We know that the key to maintaining a healthy organisation with strong leadership and high levels of corporate culture is continuous development. That is why we are not resting on our laurels, but are committed to the goal of development, for the benefit of the organisation, the employees, the economy and society in general.”
