CySEC to hold financial literacy lecture at Agios Georgios Lakatamia Lyceum

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) is preparing to hold its next educational lecture, for the final year students of the Agios Georgios Lakatamias Lyceum.

Held in collaboration with Professor of Economics Marios Afantitis, the theme of the presentation is financial literacy, with an emphasis, at the request of the students, on the legal framework, the challenges and risks of investing in crypto-assets.
The lecture is among actions CySEC is promoting as part its participation in the annual campaign Global Money Week 2024. It said this was “yet another excellent opportunity to inform young people about the importance of financial literacy as the first line of defence for their protection, and to raise awareness about the urging need for financial literacy in schools”.
It added, “CySEC’s ultimate goal is for young people to acquire basic knowledge and skills in finance in order to be able to make sound financial decisions.”
