PwC Foundation organises Volunteering Days for a second year running

The PwC Foundation organised the "Volunteering Days" for the second consecutive year—a week dedicated to giving back and raising awareness. This initiative was packed with actions aimed at supporting the community by generously spreading joy, support, strength, and love to our fellow humans.

From Monday, December 2, to Friday, December 6, including Thursday, December 5, which marks International Volunteer Day, more than 300 PwC volunteers actively participated in 13 different activities. These actions aimed to empower the local community while emphasising the organisation's strong commitment to creating a lasting and positive impact through the PwC Foundation.

The activities carried out this year included:

Collaboration with the Cyprus Red Cross: PwC volunteers assisted in preparing Christmas care packages to be distributed to vulnerable families.

Support for Children at Larnaca General Hospital: Volunteers created a library filled with English and Greek books for hospitalised children and enhanced the playroom, bringing joy to young patients awaiting their return home.

Adopting a Family: PwC volunteers collected Christmas gifts for underprivileged children and vulnerable families.

Karaiskakio Foundation Calendar: The PwC Foundation adopted Thursday, December 5, (International Volunteer Day) in the Karaiskakio Foundation's Christmas Advent Calendar, supporting its Pediatric Cancer Research and Diagnosis Program.

Christmas Treats for Alkionides Foundation: PwC Cyprus volunteers prepared Christmas treats such as kourabiedes (traditional Christmas cookies), which will be sold at Christmas bazaars to support the Alkionides Foundation's work.

Evangelismos Special School: PwC volunteers painted the school's walls and worked on maintaining its playground, adding a cheerful and festive touch.

Support for SPAVO: Clothes and other essentials were collected at PwC offices in Nicosia and Limassol for the Association for the Prevention and Handling of Domestic Violence (SPAVO).

Blood Donation: The annual blood donation initiative was held at PwC offices in Nicosia and Limassol, with many employees participating to contribute this vital gift of life.

Revitalization of Makarios Hospital’s Outdoor Area: Volunteers improved the park next to the hospital, creating a welcoming space for hospitalised children and their loved ones.

Support for CopsCats Group: PwC Cyprus volunteers teamed up with CopsCats, an organisation dedicated to neutering stray cats, to improve the quality of life for these animals.

Aradippou Farm: Volunteers helped clean and maintain the farm while caring for the animals, gaining a unique experience.

2nd Chance Dog Shelter & Dog Valley Rescue Center: Participants visited the shelters in Nicosia and in Limassol to interact with the dogs, enhancing their socialisation and increasing their chances of adoption.

Support for the Blueheart Foundation: PwC Cyprus volunteers participated in the charity event "Move & Groove," dancing Zumba and raising funds for the Blueheart Foundation that supports our fellow human beings experiencing economic hardship.
