09:10 - 09 December 2024
A representation of the Cyprus Integrity Forum recently met with Justice and Public Order Minister Marios Hartsiotis.
During the Friday, 6 December meeting, the Cyprus Integrity Forum (CIF) was represented by its Chairman Marios Skandalis and the Member of the Board of Directors Rovertos Yiousellis.
According to a CIF announcement, during the meeting, the Minister was briefed on the Cyprus Integrity Forum’s actions and initiatives that are currently underway in its effort to educate and raise awareness on the fight against corruption among the state, society and the business community.
“The Ministry of Justice and Public Order has been and remains perhaps the most important partner of the Cyprus Integrity Forum, and the alignment of views that was observed is highly satisfactory,” a Forum announcement on the meeting said.
Hartsiotis made particular reference to the Incentive Scheme for the public, broader public and private sectors for the implementation of the ISO 37001 standard against bribery and corruption. This is a recognised standard that sets out requirements and provides guidelines for the creation, implementation, maintenance, review and improvement of an effective anti-bribery and corruption management system.
“Such pioneering initiatives, such as that of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order, should not only be welcomed by the business community of Cyprus, but also practically supported with the participation of all businesses, since this is an important measure to combat corruption,” CIF’s announcement concluded.
