Vassilis Malikides handed CBN Young Dragon Award in Shipping category

Vassilis Malikides, Chief Investment Officer at OSM Thome, has been named the Young Dragon in the Shipping category at the first CBN Young Dragon Awards.

Malikides was awarded during a ceremony at Nicosia’s Municipal Theatre on 2 December.

Over the last decade, Vassilis Malikides has held senior leadership positions in the shipping industry and is currently the Chief Investment Officer at OSM Thome, the third largest maritime service provider in the world. With a profound talent for mathematics, evidenced by four gold medals in Olympiads during his teenage years, he advanced his education at the University of Cambridge and, since then, has rapidly ascended the ranks of the shipping sector, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic vision.

His strong analytical mindset, effective collaboration with senior leadership and solid commercial acumen have been instrumental in the growth of OSM Thome. Before joining in 2015, he was an auditor at PwC and later joined the publicly listed Norwegian seismic company SeaBird Exploration. He also serves on the Board of CySEC.
