ASBIS launches green initiatives: a commitment to reforestation in Cyprus and beyond

ASBIS is dedicated to combating the climate crisis by enhancing its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy and actively pursuing innovative green initiatives, it said in a press release.

The latter half of 2024 marked a significant focus on reforestation and afforestation efforts. During this period, ASBIS executed numerous campaigns dedicated to these goals, alongside various corporate social responsibility events that incorporated tree planting and forestry activities. Notably, the company’s commitment to green initiatives was evident in the gifts offered to clients during business events, which focused on landscaping and promoting greenery.

The planting initiatives primarily took place across Cyprus, Croatia, and Serbia. A key campaign, conducted in Cyprus on November 16, involved the planting of 300 trees. This effort is particularly significant considering that from 2001 to 2023, Cyprus has experienced a loss of approximately 3.44 thousand hectares of tree cover, translating to a 3.8% decrease since the year 2000.

This campaign was executed in collaboration with Prasini Aspida, an initiative focused on environmental protection and combatting climate change, as well as the “You Reforest Cyprus” program. The impact of such reforestation initiatives is critical for the ecological restoration and sustainability of Cyprus’s landscapes.
