Cyprus ranks 6th in most sought-after destinations for Britons in 2023

Cyprus was the sixth most sought-after foreign travel destination by British people in 2023 according to results produced by Google’s popular search engine.

The list was based on searches using keywords such as “flights to” and “travel to”, and features Greece on the top spot.

Spain, Italy, Portugal and Croatia conclude the top five countries and following Cyprus are Thailand, Egypt, Malta and Morocco.

The most popular or at least looked-up island destinations were Rhodes and Sicily and the top foreign city destination was Orlando, followed by Tel Aviv, Seville, Marrakech, La Rochelle in northwestern France, Delhi, Cork and Amsterdam.

The tech giant said relevant searches in 2023 were the highest since 2019, the last full year before the coronavirus pandemic.
