Prices in construction material rise marginally in August

The prices of construction materials in August rose only marginally both compared with the previous month of this year as well as compared with August 2022, CySTAT has announced.

According to CySTAT the Price Index of Construction Materials for August 2023 reached 134,91 units (base year 2015=100), recording a marginal decrease of 0.08% compared to the previous month.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 0.43%.

By main commodity category, increases were recorded in minerals (15.07%), mineral products (6.68%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (2.26%) and electromechanical products (1.13%).

Prices of metallic products declined by 9.52%, CySTAT added.
