CMMI: Agreement for blue economy training programmes

The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) has signed an MoU and Service Agreement with the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA) to prepare and implement capacity building programmes related to the blue economy.

Memorandum of Understanding and Service Agreement with the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA) with the aim of organising and implementing capacity building programmes related to the blue economy.

HRDA implements the “Training programmes to acquire knowledge and skills related to the blue economy” under Cyprus’ Recovery and Resilience Plan (2021-2026). It is funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Mechanism - NextGenerationEU.

The agreement between CMMI and HRDA provides for the implementation of 100 training programmes for around 2,000 people at an estimated cost of €490,000. The training will be available free of charge for people employed in the private, public and broader public sector, the self-employed as well as the unemployed.

The Memorandum of Understanding and the Service Agreement were signed by CMMI CEO Zacharias Siokouros and the Director General of HRDA, Yiannis Mourouzides.
