T. Kolster: The four steps for implementing ESG strategy

"Your leadership is no greater than what you can get people to achieve," Thomas Kolster emphasised, speaking at the 15th Conference on Corporate Sustainability & Responsibility presented by OPAP Cyprus.

Speaking on the topic "Inspiring Action: How Brands, Leaders, and Organisations Drive ESG Engagement", the Founder of the Goodvertising Agency, showed the way to implement an ESG strategy that can lead to the desired results.

As a keynote speaker at the 7 July event in Nicosia, the popular Danish speaker, and writer, among other things, also cited the fact that 65% of consumers say they want to buy from brands with values and purpose. "Only 26% actually buy from the brands in question," he clarified, however, showing that there is still a lot to be done.

He then went on to consider how to craft an ESG-oriented strategy, stating that emphasis should be placed on the 'what', 'how', 'who', and 'when'.

He explained that the first thing Organisations need to do is consider what they care about and then focus on how they are unique in delivering their product or service. Then, Organisations should look at who can help with the implementation and then when they need to activate the actions to bring about the change.

In an inspiring speech with a series of positive examples of companies that have intelligently promoted the CSR strategy, he invited Organisations in Cyprus to integrate these elements and change the way of thinking, through a different perspective on how they can contribute to sustainable development.

Finally, he sent the resounding message to the audience that leadership is nothing more than what can make people succeed.
