Industrial sector turnover surges 7% in April

An expansion of operations in the Manufacturing, Mining, Quarrying, and Electricity Supply sectors led to a substantial increase of more than 7% in the industrial sector’s turnover in April 2023, according to Cystat.

The Industrial Turnover Index in April reached 175.3 units (base year 2015=100), marking a 7.2% increase compared to same month in 2022.

In January-April 2023, the index showed a growth of 14.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the manufacturing sector, the index reached 180.1 units, indicating a 7.8% increase compared to April 2022.

There was also an increase in the mining and quarrying sector by 21.1% and electricity supply by 10.1%.

In contrast, the water supply and waste management sector declined 21.2% compared to April 2022.
