American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo: First students in September

The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo) in Paphos will accept its first students in September, after the Council of Ministers ratified its certification and officially included the university in Cyprus’ list of Higher Education Institutions.

As one of the most renowned and prestigious universities in the world, AUB Mediterraneo is expected to seriously boost the island’s higher education sector.

The American University of Beirut is headquartered in Paphos and will run its own campus that is currently being built in the Carob Mills area. The campus is expected to be completed and delivered in October; so the university will operate in the fully-equipped premises of the Paphos Innovation Centre until then.

As soon as the Certification process was completed, the university started accepting applications to enrol in the next academic year 2023-2024. Being of a non-profit nature, AUB Mediterraneo is also offering a broad range of scholarships and grants to its students, covering up to 80% of their annual tuition fees.

Students are accepted based on their grades in years 11 and 12, while they are also required to hold an International AS-Level exam, second-grade Lyceum exams or a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

AUB Mediterraneo will launch with the following schools and programmes:
