ECB Executive Board member, Philip Lane to visit Cyprus

Member of the ECB's Executive Board, Philip Lane will pay a two-day visit to Cyprus, following an invitation from the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), Constantinos Herodotou.

The Cyprus News Agency (CNA) has learnt that the visit will take place between 5-6 April during which a series of meetings with state officials and private sector entities have been arranged.

Philip Lane, in his capacity as Chief Economist, is the key person for the issues that are presented to the ECB's Governing Council for approval.

Lane has served as the Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland from 2012-2019, as Chair of the Advisory Technical Committee (ATC) of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB), from 2017-2019, as well as Chair of the ESRB High-Level Task Force on Safe Assets, 2016-2018, Chair of the Economic Statistics Review Group of the Central Statistics Office in 2016 and Chair of the Advisory Scientific Committee (ASC) of the ESRB in 2015. He has also served as co-Chair of, Joint ATC-ASC-FSC ESRB Task Force on Macroprudential Issues and Structural Change in a Low-Interest Rate Environment in 2015.
