John Christodoulou: “Love whatever you are doing and you will succeed”

Cypriot businessman John Christodoulou urged the island’s younger generation to work hard, set high goals and have a vision, as they are holding their future in their hands.

He was speaking during the awards ceremony for the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation’s LOVE CYPRUS 2023 competition that took place in Limassol on Monday night, in the presence of important personalities from Cyprus and Monaco.

Welcoming the students who had gathered to pick up their hard-earned prizes “with great love”, Christodoulou acknowledged how hard they had worked to prepare their participations.

“I have seen all of your photos and videos and I am really-really moved,” he said. “I have always believed and continue to believe in you, and in your talent. You are holding your future in your hands. Please keep working hard, setting high goals, have a vision. Love whatever you are doing, and you will succeed for sure.”

And turning to their teachers, the international businessman added: “My dear teachers, you are holding the most valuable asset of our country, in your hands: Our children. Please continue the great work you are doing.”

As for their parents, Christodoulou urged them to “Please continue to support your children to set high goals and to keep improving themselves. School and family are of the most important factors to the success of your children.”

He went on to thank the guests, saying the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation “focuses on CHILDREN and on their education because their education directly reflects the future of our country”. He added, “And that is why all of us, both the private sector and the government sector, need to continue investing in the modernisation of the school system, to make the schools attractive to our children”.

John Christodoulou was also pleased to welcome the Foundation’s distinguished guests from Monaco. “Having you with us tonight, is an additional joy to me. In addition to the beauty of our culture and nature that you have already seen, tonight you can witness the fresh creativity and imagination of our children.”

The event was held at Monte Caputo in Limassol as the culmination of a new initiative by the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation to promote creativity among pupils towards upgrading their schools with prizes totalling €180,000.
