Elias Neocleous & Co LLC receives Occupational Health and Safety certification

Elias Neocleous & Co LLC has been accredited with the ISO 45001:2018 certification in Occupational Health and Safety, following an audit by Bureau Veritas.

“The certification provides evidence of the firm’s dedication to continuously raising the bar on our ‘Health and Safety’ performance,” the company said. “It stands proudly alongside our ISO 9001:2015 certification which demonstrates our commitment to quality control systems and their continuous improvement.”

It said that Elias Neocleous & Co LLC has always fulfilled its legal obligations under the law on ‘Health and Safety’, however, the ISO 45001:2018 certification demonstrates that it has gone a step beyond this. “It is also an acknowledgement of a year of hard work and full commitment by both the management and staff of the firm. The commitment of our senior management to developing, leading, and promoting such a ‘Health and Safety’ conscious culture illustrates its devotion to the physical and mental health of the firm’s members.”

It said the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification displays the firm’s commitment to providing a workplace where the risk of illness or injury to members of staff, the community and clients is eliminated or minimalised. It is a global standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems that provides a practical solution to improving the safety and health of both employees and other individuals such as clients and associates. It combines and supplements ‘Health and Safety’ legal requirements and is proof that a company complies with both the law and international standards.

“To survive in today’s competitive global marketplace, organisations must proactively manage all types of risk to the business, and the issue of occupational ‘Health and Safety’ is no exception. ISO 45001 certification provides new incentives for bolstering occupational health and safety practices in organisations and helps to improve safety for employees, clients, associates, visitors,” it said. This translates into additional opportunities to a sustainable improvement of employee motivation, which Elias Neocleous & Co LCC embraces and follows, it added.

“To the best of our knowledge, to date, we are the only law firm in Cyprus to have been successful in achieving the ISO 45001:2018 certification,” said the firm. “Achieving and retaining both ISO certifications ensures that we engage in a constant effort to understand and meet the needs of all our stakeholders.”
