TechIsland welcomes ASBIS school initiative at Arakapas

Non-profit organization TechIsland has embraced a recent CSR initiative by one of its members, ASBIS, to provide pupils at a rural school with the opportunity to sharpen their computing skills.

With the vision of transforming Cyprus into the tech island of Europe, TechIsland has a growing number of member companies, including ASBIS. ASBIS Group is a leading Value Add Distributor, developer, and provider of ICT, IoT, Robotic products, solutions, and services to the EMEA markets and is headquartered in Cyprus.

According to a recent TechIsland announcement, with the support of ASBIS, which is also a TechIsland Board Member, a new computer classroom at the Arakapas school has been established and is up and running.

The newly launched computer classroom provides an opportunity for students to gain knowledge of fundamental informatics skills, access 3D printers, and assist in other subjects.

The Regional Primary School in Arakapas, which suffered significant damage from a destructive wildfire, was previously rebuilt by TechIsland Members.

“Bringing positive change to the world should be done without expecting anything in return. And I hope this is what we teach our children and the people around us,” the initiator of the project Alexey Gubarev, Co-founder & Investor of Palta and Board Member at TechIsland commented.
