Fine dining at City of Dreams Mediterranean

With the grand opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean (CoD) in Limassol drawing excitingly close, CBN takes a look at the new high-end restaurants that will open within Europe’s first ever integrated casino resort.

Divided into Premium, International and Casual, visitors will have a plethora of fine-dining options to choose from, all under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Olivier Belliard. With 25 years of experience, Belliard will lead a team of 200 talented people towards implementing owner Melco’s vision for a comprehensive, high-end experience in line with its extremely high international standards.

Here are the restaurants that will be opening.

Under the Premium category:

Oléa

An “evolution of traditional recipes” in a menu compiled with authentic ingredients from the finest local producers, Oléa restaurant will use vegetables farmed in CoD’s very own organic gardens for recipes inspired by the seasons, serving fresh and seasonal tastes that establish a real connection with the land and nature. According to the CoD website, “Oléa is named after the olive trees growing in profusion on the island’s flora, a symbol of eternal strength, peace and friendship. Elements representing the Mediterranean hospitality, surrounded in a chic and elegant architectural atmosphere.” The restaurant will be open from noon until midnight and can seat 120 people.

Olea

Amber Dragon

Amber Dragon will be the place to go for lovers of Pan-Asian cuisine, who will get to experience a sizzling combination of Chinese and Japanese tasteful creations. Diners can enjoy a visual Peking duck oven experience, an old Cantonese traditional recipe served with homemade pancakes and traditional condiments from the restaurant’s wood fired specialty oven. They may also sit comfortable at the breathtaking sushi bar to witness a live preparation of Japanese delicacies such as sashimi served with fresh wasabi. “Try our dim sum, created from traditional recipes transformed with the latest trends and techniques for a whole new culinary experience,” says CoD. And of course, the food experience would not be complete without an extensive sake menu “to complement your every bite and bring you the most indulging moments, leaving you wanting more”. Amber Dragon will be open from noon until midnight, with a capacity to seat 166 people.

Anaïs

Anaïs will offer a seasonal menu, superbly crafted and executed to perfection. With an open kitchen design, diners will get to witness the cooking ritual first hand. It will offer European, contemporary signature dining and food pairing with rare wine labels from all over the globe, offering an unparalleled dining experience. “Our chefs are ready to introduce to you a magical gastronomical journey, highlighting on the origin, seasonality and hard work that takes place in every dish served in front of you”, says CoD. The restaurant will be open from 5pm until midnight and can seat 92 diners.

Under the International category:

Aura

Aura will offer a culinary journey of local and international cuisine with interactive cooking stations. Colours, flavours, scents, sounds and impeccable service are carefully crafted to take guests on a unique taste experience. From healthy options to Middle Eastern delights and Asian breakfast specialties, to a pizza-making station for the little ones, Aura will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner in buffet style, as well as à la carte options throughout the day. It will be open from 7am until 11pm with a capacity to serve 412 people.

The Lounge

The Lounge pairs contemporary gastronomic art with imaginative cocktails. It will be the place to enjoy a cup of freshly brewed gourmet coffee from exclusive blends or a glass of refreshing bubbly after a long day, and simply relax. Diners can also enjoy a divine afternoon tea with delicious bites and finger food, while if they are more into a late afternoon drink, they can accompany it with a delicate pastry or dessert in an elegant environment with distinctive service. The Lounge will be open from 8am until 11pm, seating 58 people.

And under the Casual category:

Center Stage

According to the CoD website, Center Stage will offer visitors non-stop thrills at the heart of the gaming action. “We know you want your cocktail in one hand, a tasty quick bite on the other and live entertainment all night long. Experience the most vibrant ambience while you play and let us serve you with the most delightful dishes your heart desires.” These include gourmet sandwiches, mouthwatering pasta dishes, fresh salads and more. Centre Stage will be open 24/7 and can seat 103 people.

Aqua Bar

Aqua Bar will be the place to go to simply relax, with an ice-cold artisanal cocktail and a quick bite by a garden of pools and the most idyllic and exotic scenery, colourful and full of beauty all around. “After a long day of sun-soaking and swimming, you need your refreshing beverage to keep you hydrated while your appetite is calling for a mouthwatering meal at the Aqua Bar restaurant.” Diners can choose from homemade pizzas or CoD’s signature fish & chips with homemade aioli and local fries. “If you are more into light and refined eating, then choose the yellowfin tuna poke bowl with Asian pickles and sprouts grown from our very own gardens.” When the night falls, guests will get to enjoy fabulous evenings by the pool, featuring glamorous events and parties. Open from 10am until 7pm, Aqua Bar will be able to seat 158 people.

Veranda Café

Located on the terrace, guests at Veranda Café will be able to enjoy an Italian influenced gelato, a signature coffee, a smoothie or a glass of freshly squeezed juice. “Veranda Café is casual, easy-going, and terribly tempting. Welcome to your daytime destination for the ultimate sandwich, a healthy bar, an irresistible dessert or even a refreshing glass of Prosecco at lunch time or early afternoon.” The Veranda Café will serve guests from 10am until 7pm, with a capacity to seat 120.
