Athena Shipilli Tsingi appointed General Manager at Eurolife

Athena Shipilli Tsingi has taken over as the new General Manager of Eurolife, as of 1 November, having previously worked at Bank of Cyprus' Compliance Division in 2021 before taking over as Director of Wealth Services from June 2022 until October 2023.

She will answer to the Executive Chairman of Insurance Companies at Bank of Cyprus and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eurolife, Loui Pohani.

“I am very pleased to take over duties as General Manager at Eurolife,” Shipilli Tsingi said, adding that it was a huge honour for her.

“I took over my duties with a sense of responsibility to the organisation’s history and course, what with it being a leader in the country’s insurance industry since 1989,” she said. “Aware of the modern world’s insurance needs and with respect to our clients, we will continue with the same responsibility to stand by Cypriot society’s side and create value while continuing to be fully dedicated to the people.”

Before joining BoC, Shipilli Tsingi was a Senior Risk Management Manager at CNP Cyprus Insurance Holdings Ltd, where she was also member of the Executive Committee, while from July 2009 up to June 2013, she was the Director of Internal Audit and Head of Compliance at the same group.

Prior to that, she has worked at KPMG Cyprus as well as Moore Stephens Chartered Accountants in London, where she was an external auditor up until March 2003.

She returned to Cyprus in April 2004 and first worked at Mega TV Channel. She holds a BSc joint honours Economics & Accountancy from City University of London, is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Certified Internal Auditor of the Institute of Internal Auditors US as well as a Certified Information Systems Auditor of ISACA.
