Annual industrial turnover increases 6.7% in Jan-Sept

The Industrial Turnover Index in January-September 2023 registered a notable 6.7% increase compared to the same period last year, CySTAT data shows.

In September, the index marked steady annual growth of 0.6% (the same as September 2022), reaching 206.6 units (base 2015=100).

According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus over the broader timespan of January to September 2023, the index has registered a notable 6.7% increase when compared to the same period in the previous year.

The Industrial Turnover Index for September in manufacturing soared to 188.8 units, recording a 5.2% surge compared to the same month in 2022.

In the mining and quarrying sector, the Industrial Turnover Index also witnessed a positive trend, marking a 4.7% increase in September 2023 compared to the corresponding month last year.

However, the electricity supply sector faced a notable decline, recording a decrease of 10.7%. Similarly, the water supply and materials recovery sector also encountered a downturn, with a decrease of 4.0%.
