EY Cyprus signs MoU with University of Cyprus

EY Cyprus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Cyprus to offer scholarships to current and prospective students along with employment opportunities at EY.

The MoU was signed on 27 November 2023, by Stelios Demetriou, Partner, Head of Strategy & Transactions (SaT), between EY Cyprus and the University of Cyprus, an announcement from EY has revealed.

The collaboration marks an important milestone for both organisations as it aims to empower and support aspiring students and professionals by supporting them financially in obtaining top-tier education, the announcement continued.

EY Cyprus will offer full scholarships (or the equivalent of a combination of full and part scholarships) to two MBA and two MSc Finance students with strong academic performance, along with employment opportunities at EY.

Furthermore, EY Cyprus will undertake the coverage of CFA qualification costs for undergraduates, combined with a training contract with EY. UCY will collect the CVs of interested students, complete the first screening of the CVs, based on academic performance, and inform the students who are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

Eligible students who choose to apply will undergo EY’s recruitment process, following which EY will inform successful candidates and offer them an employment contract for a position in EY.

On the occasion of the signing of the MoU, Stelios Demetriou said, “I had the honor to sign MoUs with the University of Cyprus MBA and MSc Finance programs, through which EY will be offering scholarships for graduate students and will cover CFA qualifications costs for undergraduates. Our intention is to offer these scholarships annually. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our commitment to create the transformative leaders that the world needs and build a better working world. At EY, we believe in nurturing talent and fostering innovative perspectives, and, in this context, we are giving the opportunity to ambitious individuals to obtain hands-on experience and kickstart their careers at the fast-growing team of EY.”
