PwC Foundation hosts 'Volunteering Days'

The PwC Foundation has been hosting its 'Volunteering Days,' which the company has described as a dynamic week of community engagement and contribution to society.

Ending on 8 December, the event also encompassed activities on Tuesday, 5 December, International Volunteer Day. Some 220 PwC volunteers actively participated in 13 diverse activities. These efforts emphasise PwC’s Cyprus commitment to making a positive impact in the community through its very own PwC Foundation, a company announcement noted.

Activities included:

  • Karaiskakio Advent Calendar: PwC Foundation endorsed on Monday 4 December the Karaiskakio Foundation's Advent Calendar to support its patients.
  • Kourambiedes for Alkionides: PwC Cyprus volunteers baked festive treats to support the Alkionides Foundation.

  • Support for SPAVO: Ongoing collections of clothes and other goods at Nicosia and Limassol PwC offices for the Association that focuses its efforts on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family.
  • Sophia Foundation for Children Christmas Bazaar: Which took place at PwC's Nicosia office to support children in need.
  • 2nd Chance Dogs: Volunteers interacted with shelter dogs to enhance their sociability and help the effort to be adopted.
  • Evangelismos Special School: Volunteers added colourful drawings to the school's walls, creating a cheerful and festive atmosphere.
  • Farm House Aradippou: Volunteers assisted in farm maintenance and animal care.
  • Monadika Xamogela Expansion: Volunteers assist in landscaping and organising outdoor areas for children and parents.
  • Agkalia Zois Bazaar: Fundraising event at PwC’s Nicosia office. The proceeds will be given for the provision of school equipment, delivery of mental health seminars, and other humanitarian aid.
  • Cleaning of Ayiou Demetriou Park: Joint initiative with Strovolos Municipality and NGOs that help kids with cancer to revitalise the park near Makarios Hospital and create a welcoming space for children and their loved ones.
  • Blood Donation: At PwC offices in Nicosia and Limassol.
  • Cyprus Red Cross Society – Nicosia Branch: Sorting and distributing donated clothes from citizens.
  • Movember Support: Members of PwC Cyprus, known as Mo-Bros, grew and then shaved their mustaches to support the awareness campaign of Movember Cyprus for men’s health.

Special Initiative: One Dream One Wish

In addition to the above mentioned actions, PwC Cyprus in collaboration with PwC Foundation are supporting the "One Dream One Wish" association, fulfilling the wishes of children with cancer and related diseases.

For 2023, the organisation has decided not to send gifts to clients and associates but instead offer this amount to the "One Dream One Wish" association.
