‘Explore Cyprus: Beyond the City,’ photography exhibition by UCLan Cyprus in Lefkara

UCLan Cyprus invites everyone to the 'Explore Cyprus: Beyond the City' Photography Exhibition by the Explore Cyprus team of the British University.

The exhibition represents a photographic wandering in all known and unknown unoccupied villages and communities of Cyprus, through which the special character and the true identity of the island are revealed. The project’s objective is to highlight and promote the Cyprus countryside, both in Cyprus and abroad, through the art of photography, a press release from the university notes.

After visiting and capturing photographs from all the unoccupied villages and communities of Cyprus, one photograph from each village and community was selected to be exhibited at this unique photography exhibition. The exhibition Explore Cyprus: Beyond the City consists of 354 photographs, from 354 unique villages and communities.

The photography exhibition is currently at the Lefkara Conference Center, from 26 November 2023 until 31 March 2024, while it will travel around Cyprus, and abroad.

The exhibition’s opening ceremony is under the Auspices of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, and will take place on Sunday, 3 December at 3pm, at Lefkara Municipality Conference Center.

The Explore Cyprus team members are academics and students from UCLan Cyprus, with a shared interest in photography, social impact, and cultural preservation through creative practices.
