The Cyprus Compliance Association announces a change in the leadership of its Board of Directors, with Theodoros Stavrou assuming the duties of Head of Compliance, effective 18 September 2026.
Theodoros Stavrou is a Founding Member of the Cyprus Compliance Association and has already played an active and substantial role in the work and activities of the Association, having served as L&D Director and a member of the Board of Directors. He has extensive experience in the fields of Compliance, the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. He served for 17 years at MOKAS, Cyprus’s Financial Intelligence Unit, and currently holds the position of Head of Compliance at Société Générale Bank Cyprus.
His assumption of the presidency ensures continuity in the work and operation of the Cyprus Compliance Association, with an emphasis on the Association’s further development, strengthening member participation and creating even greater value for the professional community in the fields of Compliance, Risk Management and Corporate Governance in Cyprus.
In this context, the Cyprus Compliance Association will continue to develop information, training and professional development initiatives, promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and strengthen cooperation with competent supervisory authorities, professional organisations and other relevant bodies in Cyprus and abroad.
At the same time, the Board of Directors expresses its warm thanks to Andrea Mounti Savvidou, Founding Member and outgoing President of the Cyprus Compliance Association, for her significant contribution to the establishment, shaping and development of the Association. Mounti Savvidou is stepping down from the presidency and the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Compliance Association following her appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), as she takes up her new duties. Her contribution and leadership helped create the foundations on which the Cyprus Compliance Association continues to develop today.
With its new President, the Cyprus Compliance Association is entering the next stage of its journey, with consistency, continuity and a clear focus on its further development.
