The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Evi Tsolaki, paid an introductory visit to DP World Limassol’s terminal at Limassol Port on Friday, her first since assuming office. During the visit, the Minister met with representatives of DP World Limassol and P&O Maritime and was briefed on their respective operations at Limassol Port.
The visit included a tour of DP World Limassol’s facilities, where the Minister was briefed on the terminal’s infrastructure and day-to-day operations, as well as the range of services supporting commercial, maritime and tourism activity.
Emphasis was placed on the role of Limassol Port as a key cruise gateway for Cyprus. Through the operation of the Limassol Cruise Terminal, DP World Limassol plays an important role in supporting the development of the country’s cruise sector and strengthening Cyprus’ position as an attractive destination in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Minister also toured the port aboard a P&O Maritime tugboat, gaining first-hand insight into marine operations and the services that support the safe and efficient movement of vessels within the port.
The visit also provided an opportunity to highlight DP World Limassol’s broader contribution to the Cypriot economy through its multi-purpose terminal operations. By facilitating cruise activity, general cargo, Ro-Ro and other specialised port services, the company supports trade and connectivity while contributing to economic activity and employment in Cyprus.
