Industrial turnover up 3.5% in June and first half of 2026

The Industrial Turnover Index increased by 3.5% year-on-year in June 2026, reaching 149.5 points (2021=100), according to data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service on Friday. During the first half of the year, the index also recorded a 3.5% increase compared with the corresponding period of 2025.

The largest annual increase among the main sectors was recorded in mining and quarrying, at 13.8%, while turnover in manufacturing increased by 3.6% and in water supply and materials recovery by 8.4%. Electricity supply recorded a marginal increase of 0.3%.

In manufacturing, the most significant increase was recorded in the manufacture of wood and products of wood, at 22.1%, followed by the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products and electrical equipment, at 12.4%, the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, at 7.4%, and the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel and leather products, at 8.1%. In contrast, declines were recorded in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products (-4.8%), the manufacture of furniture and other manufacturing activities (-4.4%), and the manufacture of paper and paper products and printing (-2.5%).

Domestic turnover increased by 4.3% in June and by 4.2% in the first half of the year, while export turnover decreased by 0.9% in June and by 0.8% during the January-June period.
