Kombos in Ireland for informal EU Foreign Affairs Ministers’ meeting

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is travelling to Ireland on Tuesday to participate in the informal meeting of European Union Foreign Affairs Ministers (Gymnich), according to a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Discussions will focus on Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, strengthening the effectiveness, impact and flexibility of EU external action in the evolving geopolitical environment, as well as the situation in the Middle East.

The meeting in Ireland follows the Gymnich hosted by Cyprus in Limassol last May, as part of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The Gymnich is held twice a year and is hosted by the member state holding the rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU. It provides Foreign Ministers with an opportunity for a more informal and strategic exchange of views on current issues, as well as on the guidelines of EU foreign and security policy.
