What happens when even the best defence is no longer enough? For years, cybersecurity focused on protection: better systems, stronger controls, more technology and stricter frameworks. But today’s digital environment demands something more.
The ability to withstand disruption.
To respond when an attack occurs. To keep operating when critical systems are affected. To recover quickly. And to protect not only your data, but also your operations, reputation and the trust on which your organisation depends.
This is Cyber Resilience.
And this is the new reality that Ramses Gallego, Chief Technologist, Cybersecurity at DXC Technology and a member of the ISACA Hall of Fame, will explore in Cyprus at the 6th Cyber Security Conference, taking place on 15 September 2026 at Hilton Nicosia Hotel.
From Cybersecurity to Cyber Resilience: A New Beginning
Under the title “From Cybersecurity to Cyber Resilience: A New Beginning,” Gallego’s presentation comes at a time when the very concept of cybersecurity is being redefined.
The new era is not only about preventing a cyber incident. It is about how governance, risk management, technology, people and operational continuity can work together as a single ecosystem of resilience.
As highlighted by the Conference’s central themes, organisations are now facing AI-driven attacks, ransomware, supply-chain vulnerabilities and increasing digital dependency, while NIS2, DORA, the EU AI Act and the Cyber Resilience Act are creating a new era of accountability and operational resilience.
The question, therefore, is changing.
Not only “Are we secure?” but “Are we ready to keep going when something goes wrong?”
25 Years on the Front Line
With more than 25 years of experience in security and expertise in Risk Management and Governance, Ramses Gallego is one of the internationally recognised voices in the field.
As Chief Technologist, Cybersecurity at DXC Technology, he contributes to shaping the technological direction of cybersecurity, while he previously served as Strategist & Evangelist in Symantec’s CTO Office.
His longstanding relationship with ISACA, where he has served, among other roles, as International Vice President and President of the Barcelona Chapter, was recognised with his induction into the ISACA Hall of Fame.
His international experience and perspective on risk, governance and cybersecurity bring particular weight to a conversation that is no longer relevant only to CISOs and IT Departments.
It concerns CEOs. Boards. Risk leaders. And every organisation whose operations and future depend on technology.
A New Beginning
The 6th Cyber Security Conference – From Compliance to Cyber Resilience brings together regulators, policymakers, CISOs, risk leaders, technology executives and decision-makers from Cyprus and abroad, with the aim of moving the conversation beyond theory and towards the real-world challenges organisations face today.
And perhaps this is the real “New Beginning” that Ramses Gallego will address.
An era in which success will no longer be defined simply by whether an organisation manages to avoid an attack.
But by whether, when an attack comes, it can withstand it, recover and keep moving forward.
