Cyprus recorded the third-highest ratio of beneficiaries of temporary protection from Ukraine per 1,000 inhabitants in the European Union, at 26.8 beneficiaries per 1,000 inhabitants, according to data published by Eurostat.
Cyprus hosted 31,690 beneficiaries of temporary protection from Ukraine in June 2026, remaining at broadly the same level as in May, when the corresponding figure stood at 31,620 people.
The highest ratio was recorded in Czechia, with 35.8 beneficiaries per 1,000 inhabitants, followed by Slovakia with 27.2. At the European Union level, the corresponding ratio stood at 9.8 beneficiaries per 1,000 inhabitants.
As of 30 June 2026, a total of 4.41 million non-EU citizens who had fled Ukraine held temporary protection status in EU Member States.
Compared with the end of May 2026, the number of beneficiaries of temporary protection increased by 24,380 people, or 0.6%.
