The mobile phone settings necessary for receiving CY-Alert notifications (video)

In relation to receiving notifications sent via CY-Alert in emergency situations, citizens are reminded that it is necessary to upgrade mobile devices to the latest available version of the software, as well as to select the necessary settings, as described below.

Instructions for selecting notifications on your device

Follow the steps below to locate the relevant settings and select the notifications you wish to receive:

  • Android devices:

Check for a software update

Go to Settings, select Search, and type Software Update. Make sure your device has the latest update.

Locate the CY-Alert settings

By upgrading the device software, you will find the CY-Alert settings under Personal Safety & Emergency Features.

Select the notifications you want to receive

Navigate to Wireless Emergency Notifications. From here, you can select the notifications you want to receive.

If the settings are not displayed

Go to Settings, select Security and Privacy, then Updates and Google Play System Update.

Restart your device.

  • iOS devices (Apple iPhone):

 

Go to the software update settings

Go to Settings, select General, and then Software Update.

Select the notifications you want to receive

The settings appear at the bottom of Notifications. From here, you can choose which notifications you want to receive.
