PwC Foundation continues to create positive impact through education, entrepreneurship and community support

During the 2026 financial year, PwC Cyprus, through the initiatives of the PwC Foundation, continued to drive positive change and strengthen its contribution to society.

Guided by its purpose of building trust in society and solving important problems, the PwC Foundation delivered tangible impact through a broad range of initiatives focused on Education and Culture, Youth Entrepreneurship, and community support (Offering Our Hearts & Minds).

Investing in Education and Culture

Education remained a key priority for the PwC Foundation during FY26, promoting equal opportunities, academic excellence, and future skills. Fourteen scholarships were awarded to high-performing students from the University of Cyprus, and the Cyprus University of Technology based on specific socio-economic criteria, while outstanding academic achievements were also recognised across disciplines.

The Foundation continued to support initiatives such as Girls in STEAM and TechWeCan, equipping young people with technical skills and exposure to emerging technologies.

In addition, during Global Money Week, PwC volunteers visited public schools across Cyprus, delivering educational sessions that reached 10 schools, 28 classrooms and almost 300 students from primary schools, high schools and lyceums. Through these sessions, students gained practical knowledge on money management, financial planning, and responsible decision-making.

Under the Education pillar, key initiatives include collaboration with CIM to support young professionals, alongside experiential programmes such as “Beyond the Workforce of Today,” which prepare students for the evolving workplace. At the same time, we continued the long-standing partnership with the Pharos Arts Foundation to enrich cultural and music education in Cyprus.

Supporting the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

The PwC Foundation continued to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among young people through its strategic collaboration with Junior Achievement Cyprus, the University of Cyprus and Cyprus Seeds

Programs such as the "Company Program" empower students aged 15–18 to develop their entrepreneurial skills and establish their own company, transforming an idea into a real product or service. Through this process, they gain hands-on experience in running a business, guided by teachers and business mentors. Similarly, the "Our Community" programme introduces younger students to the concept of active citizenship and community engagement through experiential learning activities.

It is particularly noteworthy that the Cypriot student team HerShield from St. Mary’s School in Limassol, representing Cyprus at the JA Europe competition in Riga, was awarded 3rd place in the prestigious JA Europe Company of the Year 2026 category, among participants from over 40 countries.

The PwC Foundation also supported the broader innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem by sponsoring the annual Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum and contributing to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) of the University of Cyprus.

Among the new initiatives introduced this year was the University of Cyprus C4E Summer Academy, which offered three new, modern and highly specialised summer programmes designed to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the fields of innovation, technology, entrepreneurship and leadership.

Building on the strong success of previous years, the PwC Cyprus Scale Up 3 programme will launch in September 2026, aiming to support the growth of emerging startups.

Offering our Hearts & Minds

The PwC Foundation’s commitment to society extends beyond education and entrepreneurship through a wide range of volunteering and community support initiatives.

During FY26, PwC people participated in a blood donation campaign and actively supported the Movember movement, raising awareness around men’s health and wellbeing.

For the third consecutive year, the “Volunteer Days” initiative received an enthusiastic response from the people of the firm, with more than 350 PwC Cyprus volunteers taking part in 13 different activities in support of local communities and charitable organisations across Cyprus.

In addition, PwC has a long-standing tradition of offering pro bono services and making donations to a wide range of non-profit organisations, further contributing to the wellbeing of society.

Creating lasting impact

Commenting on the Foundation’s activities, the CEO of PwC Cyprus, Andreas Yiasemides, said:
