Eurostat: New home construction prices in Cyprus increased by 2% in 2025

Cyprus recorded a 2% increase in construction prices for new residential buildings in 2025 compared to the previous year, according to data published by Eurostat.

According to the data, the increase recorded was higher than the European Union average for the same year, which stood at 1.3%.

According to Eurostat, this indicator captures the prices of construction activities on the manufacturer's side and is based on the amounts paid by customers to contractors for the construction of new homes.

At the European Union level, new home construction prices increased by 48.2% in the period 2015-2025. The largest increase was recorded in recent years, with annual increases of 5.8% in 2021, 12.2% in 2022 and 6.9% in 2023. It is noted that the growth rate subsequently slowed to 2.3% in 2024 and 1.3% in 2025.

Among the Member States for which data are available, the largest increases over the last decade were recorded in Bulgaria, where prices rose by 166.1%, in Hungary by 155.4% and in Romania by 130.7%.

For the same period, the smallest increases were recorded in Italy with 17%, in Greece with 17.3% and in Finland with 22.1%.
