The importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors for the effective management of challenges and ensuring the country's development path was highlighted by the annual gala dinner of the Cyprus Property Developers Association, which took place on Wednesday, 24 June.
The event was honored with the presence of the Minister of Interior, Constantinos Ioannou, members of parliament, party leaders and representatives, as well as representatives of the Local Government, the business community, professional bodies and the real estate development sector.
In his address, the Minister of Interior, Constantinos Ioannou, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, congratulated the Cyprus Property Developers Association for its long-standing and substantial contribution to one of the most important and productive sectors of the Cypriot economy. At the same time, he underlined that maintaining the sector's momentum requires continuous dialogue, institutional cooperation and commitment to the principles of transparency, quality and reliability, noting that only through a relationship of mutual trust between the State and the business community can conditions of stability, development and long-term progress be ensured.
On his part, the Chairman of the Cyprus Property Developers Association, Yiannis Misirlis, pointed out that despite geopolitical uncertainty, Cyprus continues to be a place of stability, security and perspective, attracting investments, businesses and human resources from all over the world.
He made particular reference to the housing issue, noting that the main challenge facing Europe and Cyprus today is the limited supply of housing, underlining the need for faster licensing procedures and better urban planning.
"When the public and private sectors collaborate with a common vision, the results are always greater than the sum of the individual efforts," he said, reaffirming the Association's will to continue to operate as a responsible and constructive social partner of the state.
As part of the event, Misirlis welcomed four new members to the Cyprus Property Developers Association, handing them their Membership Registration Certificates and pointing out that their membership will contribute to further strengthening the voice and work of the Association.
At the same time, the Association delivered a financial contribution to Junior Achievement Cyprus, recognising the organisation's significant contribution to the promotion of entrepreneurship, innovation and youth education.
Closing the event, Yiannis Misirlis warmly thanked all attendees for their presence and support, reiterating the Association's commitment to continue working towards a modern, competitive and sustainable real estate development sector, for the benefit of the economy and society of Cyprus.
