The electoral process is continuing smoothly and without any major problems, said the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnaoutis, at noon on Sunday.
“Up to this time, the electoral process is continuing smoothly and without any particular problems,” noted Arnaoutis, adding that the cooperation between the services involved is continuous and effective. “Members of the Police are present at all polling stations and also on patrol throughout Cyprus to ensure law and order,” he said.
Responding to a question, the Chief of Police said that no major problems or irregularities have been reported in the electoral process. “There may be minor issues, that is, they are not worth mentioning so far,” he stressed.
Finally, he said that it is not within the police forces' responsibilities to remove party-related banners that remain posted in various locations.
