The informal Meeting of the Council of Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN), is underway at the Filoxenia Conference Centre within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council, and under the auspices of the Finance Minister Makis Keravnos.
The first day of discussions will begin at midday with a working lunch and will be completed at 4 in the afternoon with a joint session of the EU Ministers of Finance and the Governors of the Central Banks of the EU.
The second day of discussions will begin on Saturday morning and will be completed by midday with a press conference.
Friday's informal Meeting of Ecofin will be preceded by a meeting of the Eurozone group (Eurogroup) under its President Kyriakos Pierretakis.
According to the official programme, among the topics that will be discussed by the EU Ministers of Finance are the strengthening of the competitiveness of the EU, housing and the progress in the discussions for adoption of the digital euro.
