Cypriot student housing platform MyStudentFlat launches on Crowdbase

In Cyprus, more than half of university students come from abroad, and many book their first flat without ever visiting it.

MyStudentFlat, a Cypriot startup, has built the first end-to-end digital platform for student housing in Southern Europe, already operating across Cyprus and Greece. The crowdfunding campaign is now open on Crowdbase from €100.

A rental market the internet skipped

Mainstream rentals went digital a decade ago. Student housing did not. Across Cyprus and Greece, more than 800,000 students each year still rely on scattered listings, paper contracts, and landlord phone calls in a foreign language. MyStudentFlat is rebuilding that process from the ground up.

How MyStudentFlat works

MyStudentFlat was founded by Dimitris Economou, who is an experienced Investor in Cyprus student housing for over 15 years, and Elena Orfanidou, former Chief Digital Officer at Piraeus Bank and former member of the BoD of AstroBank. The platform features verified listings, 360° video tours, digital contracts, online payments, and pre-arranged utilities, letting students book from abroad and arrive to a fully ready home. Since launching in September 2025, the company has grown to 50+ flats across Nicosia, Limassol, and Athens, with 100% occupancy in Cyprus and over €450,000 in annual rental revenue. It recently won 1st place at the 6th NBG SEEDS Bootcamp, the National Bank of Greece’s startup accelerator, out of 144 entrants.

MyStudentFlat currently leases flats directly from landlords and runs them for students. The company is now moving toward a marketplace model, where landlords list and rent through the platform themselves. All of its Limassol flats already operate this way, fully occupied. The platform is anchored by MoUs with various universities in Cyprus and Greece, an inventory distribution deal with Uniplaces, and verification of every flat before it goes live.

The investment round

The campaign is open for investment for a limited period, with a minimum funding target of €100,000 and a maximum of €500,000. The capital will fund portfolio growth across Cyprus and Greece. The minimum investment is €100, and Cyprus tax residents may also be eligible for up to 35% tax relief under the Cyprus Innovative Enterprise scheme. Eligible EU investors can view the full pitch, financial model, and Key Investment Information Sheet on the campaign page.
