Cyprus and Kazakhstan have reaffirmed ties ahead of the President's visit, the Foreign Minister says

The strengthening of bilateral relations between Cyprus and Kazakhstan, as well as broader regional and international developments, were at the centre of a meeting held in Nicosia, between Cyprus’ Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Bakayev.

“During our meeting, the importance of dialogue, stability and mutual beneficial co-operation was reaffirmed”, Kombos wrotein a post on X.

According to the post, discussions focused in particular on Cyprus–Kazakhstan relations and prospects for further deepening engagement, especially in view of the upcoming visit of President Nikos Christodoulides to Kazakhstan. The meeting also addressed Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the European Union and EU–Kazakhstan relations more broadly. Current geopolitical developments were also on the agenda.
