Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis is on a working visit to Chios, where she will participate in the '1st Mare Forum Chios,' delivering the event's keynote address.
The forum is being attended by representatives of the international shipping industry, who are expected to discuss the challenges and the future of global shipping, an official statement from the Deputy Ministry notes.
On Saturday, 9 May, the Deputy Minister will travel to Brussels in preparation for the conference, entitled 'Shaping Policy, Driving Change: Equality and Inclusion in the Maritime Sector,' which is organised by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping of Cyprus in the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and which will take place on 12 May, 2026.
The Conference will bring together high-level representatives from EU institutions, international organisations and other maritime stakeholders, with the aim of strengthening the promotion of diversity, equality and inclusion in the maritime sector. On the sidelines of the conference, the Deputy Minister will hold meetings with representatives of EU institutions and other maritime stakeholders.
On Monday, 11 May, the Deputy Ministry of Shipping will host an official dinner as part of the conference proceedings.
