President Nikos Christodoulides welcomed Europe's leaders to Nicosia's Filoxenia Conference Center this morning as the works of the Informal Meeting of Heads of State or Government shifted to the capital city.

And because, as the Balkan saying goes, "a hungry bear doesn't dance", so a breakfast buffet full of traditional Cypriot treats was prepared for the European leaders.

Dishes include everything from gel-based sweet 'Paphitiko loukoumi' or Paphos delights, to 'Sousoukkos' (a sweet made of grape must and almonds or walnuts), 'Daktyla' sweet biscuits (Ladies Fingers) and 'Pastelaki' (sesame brittle), giving the European visitors a taste of a Cypriot breakfast.
