ARC Research Centre enters operational phase

The European University Cyprus announces that the Advanced Autoradiography and Radiopharmacology Centre (ARC) has completed the installation and commissioning of its equipment and is now entering its operational phase, marking a significant milestone for biomedical research and innovation in Cyprus.

ARC is the first infrastructure of its kind in the country, offering advanced technologies in high-resolution digital autoradiography and quantitative analysis of radiolabelled compounds. These capabilities enable detailed investigation of drug–target interactions, provide insights into disease mechanisms, and support early-stage drug discovery, including the development of novel molecular imaging agents.

Designed as an open-access facility, the Centre is available to academic institutions, research organisations, healthcare providers, and the pharmaceutical industry, providing specialised equipment and scientific expertise to foster collaboration and knowledge transfer.

The official accreditation of the infrastructure is expected to be completed on 11 May.

The project was funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU), through the Research and Innovation Foundation.

With ARC, European University Cyprus reaffirms its commitment to advancing biomedical innovation, supporting interdisciplinary research, and connecting Cyprus to Europe’s growing network of scientific excellence.
