The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) announces open call with €310,000 budget

The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) on Friday announced a new call for proposals for the “PRIMA” programme, with a total budget of €310.000.

According to the announcement, the PRIMA programme aims to face common challenges of the of the Mediterranean region such as climate change, food security, water scarcity and unsustainable agrifood systems, with topics spanning across three thematic areas.

The first area is water management and focuses on leveraging ecosystem functions and improving water allocation to support the protection and restoration of non-perennial watercourses -an increasingly urgent issue in water-scarce Mediterranean regions, according tot the RIF.

The agricultural domain, and specifically farming systems, which calls for the development of novel, remote and non-invasive ICT monitoring and control systems aimed at tackling disease and pest infestations, offers farmers more precise and sustainable tools to safeguard production.

Lastly, the food value chain seeks to strengthen Mediterranean food systems through context-aware digital traceability, enhancing transparency, efficiency and trust across the value chain.

The call comes with a total budget of €310,000, with individual projects eligible for funding of up to €155,000.

Interested applicants must adhere to a two-stage submission process, with the deadline for transnational proposals set for 15 May at 15:00 (Barcelona time), followed by submission to the IRF’s IRIS portal by 22 May at 13:00 (local time).

For further information, interested parties can  contact the RIF’s Partner Support Center by phone on 22205000 or via email at callsupport@research.org.cy, concludes the announcement.
