The iconic Anassa hotel is ushering in a new era through an extensive renovation across the entire resort. The hotel will reopen on 27 March, marking the start of the new season, while a special festive programme of experiences has been curated for guests during the Easter period.
Ahead of the summer season, Anassa is preparing to welcome its first visitors, having completed the first phase of its major upgrade. This includes the redesign of rooms and suites, the refurbishment of private villas and the introduction of a new gastronomic experience. With an investment exceeding €10 million, the initiative further strengthens its position as a leading seaside destination in Cyprus.
Heritage meets contemporary experience
Since 1998, Anassa has been a consistent destination for discerning travellers, thanks to its unique beachfront location that evokes an authentic Cypriot village. Surrounded by crystal-clear waters, expansive gardens with olive groves, bougainvillea and a wealth of Cypriot flowers and herbs, the resort’s design reflects the essence of Mediterranean living. The renovation enhances this heritage, introducing a more contemporary design approach and an upgraded hospitality experience, all within a setting of natural beauty, away from the crowds of more popular tourist areas.
The first phase of the upgrade focuses on the complete redesign of 76 units, including Junior Suites and higher-category rooms, as well as all traditional white villas, ensuring they meet the needs of different age groups. In collaboration with internationally renowned architectural firm Yabu Pushelberg, the spaces have been refreshed with soft tones and natural materials, while bathrooms are fully redesigned. At the same time, the main terrace is upgraded with new outdoor furniture, showcasing views of the Mediterranean.
A refined culinary offering
Anassa’s gastronomy enters a new dimension with the addition of Grill at Amphora, an à la carte concept highlighting fresh fish of the day and premium grilled meats. At the same time, the core of the hotel’s culinary identity remains intact, with French-Mediterranean cuisine at Helios, Asian influences at Basiliko and traditional meze at Pelagos.
A legacy of Mediterranean hospitality
Under the guidance of the Michaelides family, with more than 50 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Anassa reflects a philosophy of consistency, care and respect for local culture. As Natasa Michaelidou, Group Director of Corporate Relations and Communications, notes:
“For nearly three decades, Anassa has expressed the Group’s philosophy: a meaningful approach, far from fleeting trends, with a focus on seasonality and Mediterranean wellbeing. An authentically Mediterranean approach to hospitality, based on quality, local culture and a sense of connection with the local community. With this new chapter, we move forward with optimism, ensuring that Anassa continues to evolve while remaining true to the values that established it.”
With sunshine year-round, direct access to a secluded beach and spacious surroundings, Anassa remains a destination that combines privacy with understated luxury. This renewal marks a thoughtful evolution that honours the hotel’s heritage while preparing it for the future.
