Quality jobs with fair wages and strengthened labour rights are a priority, Minister says

Minister of Labour and Social Insurance Marinos Moushouttas participated in the Tripartite Social Summit held in Brussels where he emphasised the need to prioritise the creation of quality jobs with fair wages and strengthened labour rights and opportunities for training and reskilling.

The Minister of Labour took part in the 18 March Summit with an intervention on the topic 'Investments for a vibrant European economy and quality jobs.' 

The Tripartite Social Summit is the institutional platform for the exchange of views between the institutions of the European Union and European social partner organisations. It is co-organised by the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, as Cyprus currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Also participating in the Summit were the responsible Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Roxana Mînzatu, the Ministers of Employment from the trio of the Council of the European Union presidency, as well as representatives of European social partner organisations and national social partner organisations from the countries of the presidency trio.
